Volunteers supporting community sport and physical activity are amazing! Yes, that’s you!

Without you, sport and physical activity just wouldn’t happen and people in your community wouldn’t get to feel the joy of taking part, connecting with other people and being physically and mentally healthier.

We know lots of people get a buzz from volunteering, helping out, giving their time (whatever you call it) but sometimes it can be challenging and feel a bit overwhelming.

That’s where we come in - Buddle is here to help

Whatever the size and shape of your community organisation, whatever your motivation and purpose, we have lots of practical resources, guidance and tools to help you get organised, be efficient and stay up to date with all the latest information and requirements for running your group.

And Rosie Benson, of Sport England’s workforce transformation team, is excited by the change.

We hope you enjoy the new site. We have tried to create a space which is bright and fun and appeals to all sorts of community organisers. We don’t mind what your gang is called – club, community group, tribe or collective. We’re aiming to make your life easier when you bring people together to be active.

We know you’re busy and don’t have a lot of time, so we try and keep things simple and straightforward.

Check out the different sections on the website to find information about how to develop and grow, finding (and keeping) other people to help out, managing your money and keeping people safe.

Whether your community group is brand new or has been going for a while, the Buddle ‘Health Check tool’ could help you identify areas for development and reassure you of the things you’ve already got nailed.

And if you are thinking about how you could support people with a disability or long-term health condition to be part of your club but don’t know where to start, then the ‘Disability Inclusion Hub’ can help set you in the right direction.

We want to hear from you!

At Buddle, we’d love to hear your stories so we can be your champions and share what you do with others.

We know that volunteers like you find huge inspiration in hearing from other volunteers.

It doesn’t have to be a big thing or a major project that you’ve completed. It could be something small – you’ve found a new way to organise your admin or you have finally mastered Zoom and it’s freed up loads of time not traveling to meetings.

Please get in touch and we’ll find a way to capture your story that doesn’t take ages!
